The Sacramento Homeless World Cup is just around the corner. And, for the first time in the storied two-decade history of the Homeless World Cup, a distinctive logo and brand have been unveiled ahead of the 2023 tournament in Sacramento. This striking, contemporary emblem encapsulates the essence of Sacramento, often termed the ‘City of Trees’.
The design, a creative brainchild of the talented Christopher Payne, realised in collaboration with the Homeless World Cup’s design and graphic agency, Tangent, incorporates the tree motif, a universal symbol of strength, growth, healing, and connection. It eloquently mirrors the transformative attributes that the Homeless World Cup instils in its participants, drawing from Sacramento’s reputation as a city entwined with nature.
The announcement of the Sacramento Homeless World Cup logo comes less than a month before hundreds of athletes from across the globe descend upon California State University, Sacramento. This gathering of diverse individuals will serve as a beacon of hope, providing inspiration and facilitating healing for communities grappling with the widespread issue of homelessness.
